Here is a cute interview that recently aired on the "E!" network. It features a wise-cracking Steve interviewing Office costar Phyllis Smith. Watch them make one another laugh! It warms my heart. Also, there may be a spoiler or two lurking within regarding the finale of our favorite Scranton show. Enjoy!

I just dug into my vault of Steve goodness and came up with this gem. Here is an old skit from the ill-fated Dany Carvey sketch program that ran about fifteen years ago. Steve Carell was a cast member you know. Here is proof!

Steve recently wrote a piece for Wired Magazine in which he discussed his secrets to appearing smart. Oddly, writing a blog about a successful comedian was not on that list. I am humiliated and insulted. Somebody get me a wetnap.
Why buy the magazine when you can read the article for free just by clicking on this link?!

Steve recently sat on Jay Leno's couch to discuss college radio, the upcoming Office episodes, and fancy sandwich makers. Jay seemed genuinely excited to talk about his brief foray into college radio. It always warms my heart to see Jay Leno excited. Anyone who knows me knows that. Here is the video:

Here is a video interview featuring both Steve and that wacky of wackys, Jim Carey. They made it to promote "Horton Hears a Who!" but with these two don't be surprised to see all kinds of nonsense that has nothing to do with Horton hearing anything. If I had a better night's sleep I would have regaled you all with a series of quotes from Carey's "The Mask." Alas....somebody stop me!

Well the Oscars happened. All of that "will it or won't it" fell by the wayside in favor of, well, "will it." Steve Carell attended this gala affair and even had a grand time presenting the award for "Best Animated Feature" with Anne Hathaway. I do not have video of said presentation but I do have a nifty pre-show interview. Watch Michael Scott attack the red carpet with the wit and bluster as only he can.

Steve attended the convention for all things geeky today, Wondercon, and he had some things to say about his upcoming movie "Get Smart", new episodes of the Office, and more.
For one, he said he just got out of two weeks of jury duty and planned to write that as an Office episode as soon as possible. The possibilities are endless there. Also some new clips were shown of "Get Smart" and the buzz is running high. The buzz, however, is not running high on this ridiculous photo:

Steve Carell recently attended the 30th annual Kennedy Center Honors Ceremony. If you've never heard of it here is a quick primer. It's sort of like a roast only instead of saying really mean and funny things, they say really nice and funny things. So it's basically a roast without balls. This year's honorees were Steve Martin, Brian Wilson, Diana Ross, Martin Scorsese and Leon Fleisher.
Steve Carell had his moment in the spotlight though, delivering a funny monologue about Steve Martin in which he said this:
"
'I am in awe of Steve Martin. I admire his career. I respect him more than anyone, with the possible exception of Martin Scorsese."
Also, Hootie and the Blowfish played a medley of Beach Boys songs while President Bush danced along. That really happened. That is too surreal of an image to discuss any further so let me just say whoever video taped that(You must be out there.) email it to me and there is a free pizza in it for you. And I won't skimp on the toppings.
Oh nevermind. CBS is airing the entire special on December 26th. The writer's strike must be hitting them hard.
In other news, here is a picture of Steve picking his nose. The writer's strike must be hitting him hard too.

There is
Oscar Buzz about for Steve Carell in his role as "Dan" in
Dan In Real Life.
Carell plays a struggling widower, Dan Burns, an advice columnist who can't follow is own advice.
Catherine Estep from Planet Blacksburg (VA) writes:
"The performances of the main characters are not only heart-felt, but also believable. The chemistry between Carell and (Juliette) Binoche’s characters is obvious from their first scene together, and never seems to die down throughout the film. Steve Carell shines throughout the movie, but props must also be given to Dane Cook, who also seems to possess skills in more serious rolls. Who knew that two of the funniest actors today could also be serious sometimes?"
Steve discusses his role here:

Can somebody get Steve Carell that coveted "Nicest guy in comedy" award? In order to help raise money for lung cancer research, Steve will be giving a behind the scenes tour of 'The Office' to the highest bidder at an upcoming silent auction being held in New York City to help raise money for lung cancer research. The winner will also get to meet the rest of The Office's cast.
What is that you say? You don't live in Rome 2.0? No worries. Bids on the silent auction will be taken on-line (
www.joanslegacy.org) or via phone (212-627-5500) until November 8.
The auction benefits Joan's Legacy which funds innovative lung cancer research at cancer centers around the United States. It's for a good cause, so gather up some of those Shrutebucks you've seen saving and head on over to the website. Then you can have your very own Michael Scott moment.
